1. Where it comes from
A BaZi chart contains year, month, day and hour pillars. Each pillar has a heavenly stem above an earthly branch. The stem on the day pillar is called the Day Master because the other chart relationships are named from its point of view.
Day stem
If the day pillar is Geng-Xu, the Day Master is Geng Metal. Xu remains part of the day pillar but is not the Day Master.

2. Why one element is not a personality label
Two charts can share the same Day Master and still differ in season, hour, roots, combinations and luck cycles. Saying "Geng Metal people are always..." removes most of the information the chart was designed to compare.
3. What relative strength means
Relative strength estimates how much seasonal and structural support surrounds the Day Master. It helps organize later questions, but a percentage is only a compact model of recorded rule evidence. Review the evidence before using the label.
